One of the biggest events loved ones can share is a wedding. Most people think you need a fortune to have a wedding; this isn’t true. You needn’t spend thousands of dollars to plan a gorgeous, memorable wedding. All it takes is a little inspiration, a few ingenious measures, and the ability to do so without sending yourself to the poorhouse.
A wedding dress is a big expense. When you go shopping for your wedding dress, think outside the box and look at dresses that are not typically considered wedding dresses. A bridesmaid dress could fit your needs and would not be as expensive as an actual wedding dress. Even if the dress needs alterations, it could still be cheaper than an actual wedding dress.
You can save a lot of money by buying your wedding gown online, but buy it with enough time to spare so you can get it altered prior to the big day. I spent $100 on the gown I purchased for my wedding, but spent another $200 for altering it. The cost of an alteration should also be included in your budget.
If you are assigning any guest to give a speech at your wedding, have him rehearse the speech with you beforehand to ensure that it is appropriate. Many generations and people of differing viewpoints will attend your wedding, so your speech makers need to make their speeches geared to everyone and not just play to their own friends.
When selecting a makeup artist for your wedding, be sure to see the makeup that they have done in the past. Is the style they do to your liking? Make sure it is something you can see yourself wearing. You don’t want to find yourself with makeup that doesn’t appeal to you right before you are about to start your wedding.
It may take a bit more time and effort to plan an affordable wedding, but it is well worth the effort. Use all of the information you have learned to plan your dream wedding.
